Sometimes there are USB power jumpers on the mobo that need to be switched in order to get Vista sleep to work right - check your mobo manual for something like "USB +5VSB jumper". Oct 24, 2007 · It doesn't appear that any of the usual routine scheduled tasks run automatically when the computer is in 'sleep' mode. (updaters, virus scans, etc., etc.) Sleep mode is more convenient than using a 'power scheme' to shut off monitor screen, stop disks, etc. Is this correct? Suggestions
This is what I did. Vista "discovered" the drive when I first turned it on just fine. (The driver, which Vista says is up to date, is dated 2006, by the way.) The problems I had a year ago with Vista and USB drives was with another computer. Those problems have gone away. But this sleep problem with eSATA persists.
